As we all know the property market has peaks and troughs and Sure Sales and Lettings have surfed through the waves and grown from strength to strength. We have done this by restructuring the company so that we have specialists in individual roles, but have never taken our eye off the ball, still enabling first class customer service.

Our vision is to change the industry perception of estate agency by being successful remaining true to our values of honesty, integrity and compassion. We always ask for feedback from all of our customers and this enables us to understand what is required from us to grow further and really be a market leader.

With the sales property market taking a much faster pace and landlords whom once were waiting for the ‘time to be right to sell,’ now deciding to sell some of their portfolio, we have quickly realised that we need to satisfy the current landlord customers we work with and introduce a sales division. This decision has not been a hasty one, because we had to ensure we had all of the correct processes in place with Lettings and have the right team to launch the Sales division.

We are now known as ‘Sure Sales and Lettings’ part of the ‘Sure Property Group’.  We have a team with over 130 years’ combined experience in Sales and Lettings and we are extremely proud of them, where we are now and what the business has become.

Meet the Team

Andrew Sharpe | Sales Director

With over 10 years of experience in the property industry, Andrew joined Sure Property Group in April 2016 having previously worked for the UK’s Largest Estate Agency Group for over 10 years. During his time in the property industry Andrew has gained excellent knowledge in a wide variety of sectors allowing him to offer you personal advice on how to get the best from your sale or investment. Andrew is responsible for the growth of the business including market appraisals as well as the day-to-day running of the front offices. At the weekend Andrew can be seen chasing a cricket ball around or cycling through the countryside. When he is not out playing sport, Andrew loves spending time with his family at home.

Lara Davies | Valuer

Lara has had a varied career so far working in the UK and abroad, mainly in sales where she prides herself in her customer centric approach. Available on the phone 24/7 Lara is hungry for the sale or let and just loves to get people in their dream home or the right investment. With five years’ experience in Estate Agency you can be Sure that Lara will be able to give you sound free advice on any aspects of the market. Lara’s best experiences have been to help move an older couple that do not have any family into the right home, going that extra mile to provide a food box for move in, and helping out with local contacts to aide through the stressful moving process. Lara loves to cook, is an accomplished horse rider, skier & PADI license holder!

Debbie Fawkner | Business Development Manager

Debbie’s career started out 28 years ago working for a Commercial Estate agency where she commenced a part time degree course in Land Management. Her career remaining in the property business; from selling houses for a House Builder, managing the sites as a ‘Field Sales Manager’ and then onto Sure in 2008 as a negotiator, before progressing to Marketing Manager in 2010.Debbie now looks at all aspects of marketing and achieving new ways to win business in an ever changing market place. Debbie has three children; Zoe (15) Holly (14) and Amber (8) when she’s not running around after them, she enjoys running around the streets of Castle Donington, always up for a challenge she recently completed her first half marathon, around the infamous Donington Race Track last November.

Alia Iqbal | Senior Property Manager

Alia has been with Sure for over 10 years having worked within a variety of different roles. Alia began her career within the lettings team and now has progressed to senior property manager. The go-to person for legal advice and experience, Alia has built a reputation within the company and amongst our clients of knowing most things! Alia enjoys shopping, going out with friends and spending time with her beautiful nieces.

Melissa Mason | Property Manager

Melissa was Sure’s very first apprentice, the success of which has led to many more successful apprenticeships. Melissa has worked within both the Burton and Derby sales teams over a successful six year property career. Currently working within the property management team within the maintenance department, Melissa’s main focus is to sort any maintenance problems out as fast as practical avoiding any unnecessary delays. In her downtime, Melissa can be found shopping (mostly gifts for other people) or socialising with friends.

Rosena Cahill | Sales and Lettings Co-ordinator

Rosena started her career with Sure as an apprentice in 2012. In the past four years she has had the opportunity of learning all aspects of the lettings and sales business working within different departments and experiencing a variety of roles. Currently Rosena is heading the sales and lettings progression teams, allowing customers to have peace of mind from committing to taking a property up until they move in. Rosena enjoys reading, travelling and playing the saxophone. A proud vegan she can often be found discussing the merits of choosing an ethical lifestyle.

Asmat Ali | Inventory Clerk

Asmat joined the company in 2012 following a successful career in engineering with Unilever. Asmat has a keen eye for detail and is very thorough with property reporting, trained to complete inventories, final inspections and routine inspections to the highest level. A proud advocate of keeping things simple and straightforward he will find a solution to any problem. Asmat enjoys spending time with his family and travelling abroad.

Claire Bailey | Negotiator

Claire joined Sure Sales and Lettings in October 2012 as an apprentice in Business Administration after completing A Levels and was new to property. She started in property Management in Burton and completed her apprenticeship before becoming a negotiator in our sales and lettings team in early 2015. Claire likes the goal focused environment, dealing with customers face to face and helping people find their ideal home, making a house move a positive experience. In her spare time Claire enjoys spending time with family and friends, enjoying local restaurants, binge-watching any new Netflix box sets and relaxing in any good weather we get after a successful work week.

Charlotte Channell | Valuer

Charlotte joined our Burton Upon Trent branch in August 2016, she has been working within the property industry since 2009. She started out in sales and professional lettings working for a family run independent estate agency in Derby; after five years she moved on to another agency for a new challenge... STUDENTS! Charlotte spent two years as a property manager, she managed her own property portfolio and engaged with landlords, tenants and contractors on a daily basis. Charlotte has taken her next step by joining us here at Sure Sales and Lettings in Burton and is looking forward to progressing within the industry. In her spare time, she enjoys reading classic novels, country walks and exploring foreign cities.

Fees

Tenant Find:

  • We provide a detailed property appraisal & valuation, including accurate description & photographs
  • We market the property using local newspapers, Sure Lettings office windows, all popular property websites & portals, major local employer Intranet sites and weekly active tenant enquiry emails
  • We conduct accompanied viewings and provide regular Landlord feedback
  • We carry out detailed referencing, identity & credit checks and arrange the Tenancy Agreements
  • The Landlord is responsible for property issues, rent collection and inventory / final inspection
  • Our fee for this is £250.00 (£300.00 including VAT)

Rent Collection:

  • As Tenant Find Service, but includes rent collection and the handling of most tenant financial & legal issues
  • Initial inventory and final inspection
  • The Landlord is responsible for all property issues
  • Our fee for this is £225.00 plus 7% of the rent per calendar month (£270.00 & 8.4% including VAT)

Fully Managed:

  • As Tenancy Managed, but including management of all property maintenance issues.
  • Periodic property inspections with detailed report
  • Initial inventory & final inspection all included
  • Tenant has access to our dedicated Property Management Centre, who co-ordinate all property & maintenance issues on behalf of the Landlord
  • Landlords can opt to make their own repairs or use our approved contractors at competitive rates
  • Our fee for this is £150.00 plus 10% of the rent per calendar month (£180.00 & 12% including VAT)

Arrangement Fee:

  • Arranging and conducting the move in for your new tenants
  • Producing all required legal paperwork for move in
  • Transfer of all utilities
  • Deposit registration within a recognised government scheme
  • Our fee for this is £100.00 plus VAT

Optional Additional Landlord Services

  • Gas Safety Inspection: £90.00 Max 3 appliances – £15 each thereafter (Valid 1 year)
  • Energy Performance Certificate: £90.00 (Valid 10 years)
  • Electrical Safety Certificate: From £180.00 (Valid 5 years)
  • Portable Appliance Testing: From £90.00 (Valid 1 year)
  • Rent Guarantee Scheme*: £90.00 For 6 months, £168.00 for 12 months
  • Initial Inventory: From £90.00 (Includes Deposit Registration)
  • Final Checkout: £90.00
  • Annual Tax Report: £90.00
  • Legionella Risk Assessment: £90.00
  • Smoke Alarm Fitting: £90.00
  • Renewal of contract: £90.00
  • Take Over Management Fees: £180.00
